To succeed in these cities, the Client needed clarity on three fronts: what drives purchase decisions in these markets, where and why potential buyers drop off in the journey, and how their offering compares with local dealers and organised competitors across experience, pricing, and trust. Mindcog designed a structured research study, combining in-depth interviews and NPS analysis to identify key conversion barriers, trust drivers, and customer experience gaps shaping purchase outcomes.
The study separated structural market constraints from fixable execution gaps and ranked them by impact on conversion. The client received a prioritised, city-specific action agenda for the Tier-2 footprint.

Respondents were split across converted customers, drop-offs, and competitor customers, enabling direct comparison of decision pathways and friction.
25 structured IDIs surfaced decision triggers, perceived risks, and trade-offs shaping purchase, deferral, or defection across the five cities.
A 383-respondent phone-to-web survey validated qualitative signals at scale, quantified incidence of each friction point, and mapped stage-wise satisfaction.
The full funnel from discovery to purchase was rebuilt stage by stage to locate where conversion was leaking and why.
Barriers were ranked on a frequency by impact basis to isolate high-leverage issues directly tied to lost conversion.
Findings were resolved at the market level, recognising that dominant trust signals and conversion drivers varied across the five cities.
A higher share of digitally engaged buyers progressed from consideration to purchase across priority funnel stages.
Defection to local dealers and organised competitors narrowed in active consideration scenarios.
Performance grew more consistent across cities, improving unit economics and supporting evidence-led Tier-2 expansion.
